Job Description

Job Description

We are hiring an experienced Commercial HVAC Technical Support Specialist to provide advanced troubleshooting and product support to contractors, field technicians, and internal sales teams.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on commercial HVAC service, controls, commissioning, startup, or field support experience. The right candidate should understand how HVAC systems operate in the field and be able to diagnose equipment, wiring, controls, communication, and performance issues through phone, email, and remote support.

This is not a general customer service role. The Commercial HVAC Technical Support Specialist will serve as a technical resource for contractors and technicians working with chillers, rooftop units, air-handling equipment, VAV systems, building automation controls, and related commercial HVAC products.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide technical support for commercial HVAC installation, startup, commissioning, service, and troubleshooting
  • Diagnose equipment, wiring, controls, communication, and system-performance issues remotely
  • Guide contractors and field technicians through troubleshooting steps and corrective actions
  • Review wiring diagrams, control sequences, equipment submittals, specifications, and technical manuals
  • Assist with BAS integration, DDC controls, BACnet communication, and cross-manufacturer coordination
  • Support internal sales teams with technical product questions and equipment applications
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and internal specialists on complex technical issues
  • Document recurring issues and help improve product training and support processes
  • Communicate technical solutions clearly to contractors, technicians, and internal teams
  • Help technicians complete installations, startups, troubleshooting, and repairs successfully

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on commercial HVAC service, controls, commissioning, startup, or field-support experience
  • Experience as an HVAC Service Technician, Controls Technician, BAS Technician, Field Service Engineer, Applications Engineer, or similar technical role
  • Strong troubleshooting knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment and system applications
  • Experience with chillers, rooftop units, VAV systems, air handlers, or comparable commercial equipment
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, control sequences, submittals, specifications, and technical manuals
  • Understanding of BAS integration, DDC controls, BACnet communication, and commercial HVAC controls preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions clearly
  • Ability to evaluate technical problems independently and recommend practical corrective actions
  • Comfortable supporting contractors, technicians, sales teams, and manufacturers in a technical capacity
  • High school diploma or GED required

Benefits

  • Opportunity to transition field experience into a technical support career
  • Exposure to a wide range of commercial HVAC equipment and control technologies
  • Continued product and systems training
  • Opportunity to serve as a trusted technical resource for contractors and internal teams
  • On-site technical support role with less field travel than traditional service positions
  • Professional growth within commercial HVAC products, controls, and systems support
  • Additional company-sponsored benefits may be available
