OVERVIEW: The first 12 weeks are spent in the classroom where you will study the CareerStep program. The next 12 weeks will be spent training with a preceptor on the clinical floor. After successful completion of the CareerStep curriculum and clinical floor training, you will take the CCMA exam to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. The last 6 months of the program consists of mentorship you will be paired with a mentor within your assigned work area. The CCMA Apprenticeship is a competitive and intensive program where expectations are high and there are times that outside studying will be expected.
