Job DescriptionCDR ProSource is currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician to join a growing manufacturing client in Kalamazoo, MI. This first-shift opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong quality background who is committed to maintaining high manufacturing standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Location: Kalamazoo, MI
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Read and interpret inspection documents, work instructions, production routers, and quality specifications.
  • Perform dimensional, visual, and physical property testing, including density, crush strength, and oil content.
  • Prepare, label, and document chemical samples for outside laboratory testing.
  • Record inspection and testing results while maintaining accurate quality records and product traceability.
  • Conduct operator audits, spot checks, and verify proper gauge usage throughout production.
  • Verify packaging, labeling, and shipment documentation before products are released.
  • Monitor calibration status of inspection equipment and maintain a clean, organized Quality Control laboratory.
  • Report nonconforming products or processes and communicate quality concerns to management.
  • Support ISO, ASTM, and MPIF audits while assisting with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coach production operators on inspection procedures and proper gauge usage.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing inspections in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret inspection documents, work instructions, blueprints, and quality specifications.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with production personnel and management.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and inspection procedures.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
