Job DescriptionAbout the Job:
- Provides front desk duties including answering phones, registration, and check-in.
- Coordinate surgical scheduling, eligibility, verifications, clearance, and prior authorizations for physicians and other facilities.
- Schedule anesthesia services and vendors for surgical cases as needed
- Serves as a surgical technician as needed.
- Maintain sterility logs and compliance protocols, including instrument sterilization, autoclave maintenance, and spore monitoring.
- Implements improvements for operating policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining surgery center compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and maintenance of logs for state, CMS, and accrediting board.
- Responsible for managing the marketing activities of the office and the surgery center.
- Serves as an ASC representative with other health organizations, government agencies, and third-party payers.
- Assist with current practice insurance relationships, including monitoring of related reimbursement, negotiation with third-party payers, provider credentialing, and maintenance of contracts.
- Help resolve any patient and medical-administrative problems and communicate effectively with staff to maintain a positive, professional, office atmosphere.
- Order supplies and collaborate with vendors regarding equipment and inventory for cases and the surgical center.
- Manages collection efforts and ensures that outstanding patient accounts and accounts receivable are within budgeted limits and in line with targets.
- Compiles and prepares various status reports for management in order to analyze trends and make recommendations.
- Maintains cleanliness of exam/procedure rooms, offices, and restrooms.
- Assist with surgical setup as well as surgery as needed.
- Provides backup assistance at the clinic as needed.
