The Foundation is happy to announce an opening for the positionof Senior Learning & Evaluation Officer. The Senior Officerleads a subset of the Foundation’s portfolios in the design andimplementation of learning and evaluation strategies. As part ofthis work, the position is responsible for creating andimplementing comprehensive plans that integrate strategicconversations with learning and evidence, designing and deployingevaluation studies, and engaging the teams in learning that informsfuture strategy work and assesses existing work. The Senior Officeralso supports aspects of organizational capacity building aroundstrategy, evidence and learning, as well as creating and overseeingstructures and practices for the Learning & Evaluation team toimprove and innovate their own practices. The Senior Officer willneed to be able to apply principles of equity and equitableevaluation across all their work.

Candidates will have a personal commitment and connection withour mission and cornerstones; work well in ambiguity and managingchange; and proactively identify opportunities to advance ourmission while remaining grounded in the day-to-dayresponsibilities. They will need to be able to apply principles ofhealth equity and racial justice across all of their work, as wellas integrate concepts of strategy formation and refinement, systemsthinking, complexity, adaptive/emergent strategy, worldviews andpower. 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in thefollowing key areas:

  • Designing evaluations to assess the progress and impact ofstrategy (beyond a single program)
  • Leading the design and implementation of learning practices forgroups or organizations, with strong facilitation and group processskills
  • Incorporating evidence and learning into planning andimplementation of organizational strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to center principles of equity inevaluation, learning and strategy work
  • Superb skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and anability to make decisions and see paths forward even when there isconsiderable ambiguity
  • Design and coordinate multifaceted and complex projectsinvolving multiple stakeholders
  • Work both independently and collaboratively, within and acrossteams
  • Exceptional motivation to identify issues, innovate solutions,and continuously improve practice
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Candidates must possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 8 years in lead roles that involved generatingevidence, and supporting stakeholders to apply evidence to strategydecisions through robust learning practices
  • Demonstrated ability to center evaluation, learning andstrategy work in principles of equity
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License

It’s an exciting time to join the Foundation whose assetsinclude a complex investment portfolio valued at approximately $2.7billion and whose annual grant making is in excess of $100 million.We offer a robust benefit and wellness package, 401(k) match, andgenerous paid leave programs. The range for this position is$105,063-$141,758 paid as salary exempt and is eligible for all CHFbenefits. This is a full-time position in Denver, Colorado with theexception of required travel. We work on a hybrid schedule of threedays in-office (required) and two days remote.
