Position Overview
NonStop Local KHQ is seeking a forward‑thinking and people‑focused General Sales Manager to lead all sales efforts across linear television and digital platforms, including OTT/CTV, Podcasts, social, and emerging media. This role is responsible for guiding the sales organization through continued transformation while protecting and strengthening our core broadcast business.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who blends strategic vision with hands‑on coaching, values relationships as much as results, and is energized by helping teams and advertisers adapt and succeed in a changing media landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Direction
- Set and lead a clear, actionable sales vision that supports sustainable growth across broadcast, digital and multi‑platform solutions.
- Lead, coach, and support a high‑performing team of Marketing Consultants, Digital Specialists and sales support staff.
- Create a positive environment that encourages curiosity, accountability, teamwork and creative thinking.
- Conduct sales meetings, regular one‑on‑ones, and ongoing training to support individual and team performance.

Revenue Development & Client Growth
- Drive new and incremental revenue by identifying market opportunities, key accounts and innovative advertiser solutions.
- Maintain strong, trusted relationships with local and regional clients, agencies and community business leaders.
- Build integrated, results‑focused campaigns by combining audience data, performance analytics and market insights.
- Bring fresh revenue ideas to the team throughout the year, encouraging thoughtful experimentation and growth strategies.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of pricing, market conditions, and scalability across platforms.

Digital & Multi‑Platform Advancement
- Lead KHQ’s continued evolution toward a digital‑forward sales approach while honoring the strength of linear television.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging platforms and digital advertising technology.
- Support team education on new digital products, campaign strategies and integrated selling approaches.
- Oversee the development of sales tools including presentations, case studies, category strategies and promotional materials.
- Other duties assigned
Operational Excellence
- Manage forecasting, pipeline activity and accountability using CRM tools such as Share Builders or similar systems.
- Develop and manage revenue goals and sales department budgets.
- Partner closely with traffic, research, production and leadership teams to ensure smooth execution and strong client outcomes.
- Ensure policies, processes and ethical standards are consistently upheld.

Work environment:
- Mix of office/studio work

- Flexible schedule, possibly including evenings or weekends
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
- Five or more years of media sales experience with 3 or more years of leadership responsibility preferred (television and/or digital).
- Proven ability to grow revenue and lead teams in a competitive, goal‑driven environment.
- Strong working knowledge of broadcast and digital advertising, including OTT/CTV, programmatic, social and third‑party platforms.
- Experience with research, ratings and traffic systems such as Nielsen, Comscore, and CRM platforms.
- Excellent communication, coaching and relationship‑building skills.
- Organized, adaptable and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be insurable under company insurance
- Flexibility to work varied hours as business needs require
