Full-Time Faculty in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Analytics and Research Methods
About the Positions
To meet areas of university strategic growth in global graduate education and impact, New hires will join an excellent, experienced and dynamic faculty and staff highly committed to exceptional education and student experience, the School for Professional Studies at Saint Louis University is seeking multiple, full-time faculty in the areas of information systems, cybersecurity, analytics, research methods and related disciplines.
All are open-rank, non-tenure track full-time faculty positions, with a nine-month contract running from August to May (renewed annually, with multi-year contracts possible after the first year). Candidates will teach up to seven graduate-level courses during the daytime with the bulk of the teaching occurring on campus. However, there is the possibility to teach select online sections if need dictates. There are also potential summer, flexible, online teaching opportunities.
As these are primarily teaching roles, research is supported but not required. However, active researchers and those with grants may be eligible for a reduction in teaching load. For interested faculty, potential or partial reduction in teaching load to maintain industry/professional practice in related area of expertise is an option. Additional expectations include limited service to support the program and School for Professional Studies as assigned by the appropriate Program Director in consultation with the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
Faculty will join a community where teaching excellence is present and well-supported. The Saint Louis University Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning staff provide a wealth of resources for faculty development through in-person workshops, online offerings and individual consultation. Faculty also receive professional development funds to support their ongoing development and professional travel-related costs.
Key Qualifications
Ideal candidates are cross-functional, with the ability to teach in more than one area. Exact courses will depend on program needs, although no new course preparation will be necessitated, as classes are already designed.
For the Master of Science in Information Systems program, candidates should have a Ph.D. in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline. ABD candidates in these fields may be considered. Those with a master’s degree in these disciplines may be considered but only if the candidate can demonstrate extensive industry experience and certifications.
For the Master of Science in Cybersecurity Global Graduate program, candidates should have a Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline. ABD candidates in these fields may be considered. Those with a master’s degree in these disciplines may be considered but only if the candidate can demonstrate extensive industry experience and certifications.
For the Master of Science in Analytics Global Graduate program, candidates should have a Ph.D. in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline where Analytics is emphasized. ABD candidates in these fields may be considered. Those with a master’s degree in these disciplines may be considered but only if the candidate can demonstrate extensive industry experience and certifications.
For the graduate-level courses in Research Methods and Decision Making, candidates should have a Ph.D. in a field of study (e.g., social science, business, analytics, information systems) with coursework and experience in applied research methods (qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods) and statistics. Preference will be given to candidates who can relate (through background, research, and consulting) methods, statistics, and evidence-based decision making to practitioners. ABD candidates in these fields may be considered.

The School for Professional Studies offers globally accessible, academic, professional, and continuing education programs for students in Saint Louis University's Jesuit tradition of excellence. Faculty and staff promote a student-centered, innovative, and enterprising environment built on a foundation of integrity, accountability, and collaboration. The School provides undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees, professional certificates, and post-baccalaureate certificates.
While its primary mission is to provide online education to working and professional students, the School for Professional Studies also offers on-campus master’s degrees in university growth areas of global graduate education in STEM-designated programs. The School currently has 18 full-time faculty, 200+ adjunct faculty and 1,600+ students.
