Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Telemetry (MS/Tele)
Location: Rochester, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights – 4x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Certifications Required: BLS
Scrubs: Navy and White Combination

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced MS/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week night shift assignment. The RN will care for adult patients with cardiac and stroke diagnoses in a high-acuity medical-surgical telemetry unit.

This role requires strong dysrhythmia interpretation skills, comfort with telemetry monitoring, and the ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Unit Details

• Patient Population: Cardiac and Stroke

• Day/Evening Ratios: 5:1 (may stretch to 6–7:1)

• Night Ratios: 6–7:1 (may stretch to 8–10:1 if staffing calls in)

• Support Staff:

  • Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) assist with vitals, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs

  • In-house Phlebotomy Team handles peripheral lab draws

  • Nursing responsible for PICC lines and central lines

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of MS/Telemetry experience

• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias

• EPIC EMR experience preferred

• Must be comfortable floating within scope to:

  • Medical/Surgical units

  • ICU

  • Emergency Department (ED)

Required Skills & Competencies

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management

• Rapid Response Team utilization

• Peripheral IV line care and management

• Oxygen delivery systems:

  • Nasal cannula

  • Face masks

  • Portable oxygen tanks

  • Non-invasive airway management

• Isolation precautions

• Experience using Hoyer lifts
