Position Overview
Our organization is seeking a full-time Staff Physician specializing in Breast Imaging Radiology, who is either board certified or board eligible, to join our team dedicated to serving Veterans. The selected Radiology Physician will report directly to the Chief of Radiology Service. This role involves conducting a diverse range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including breast ultrasounds, biopsies, MRIs, and ensuring the quality of diagnostic interpretations. The radiologist will also pre-screen high-risk and high-demand imaging studies (such as CT, US, MRI, Mammography, and Interventional Procedures) to confirm their clinical necessity and safety before scheduling.
The Radiology Physician will be responsible for timely ordering of CT and MRI scans and will meticulously document their interpretations, procedures, and healthcare decisions within the organization’s electronic medical record system (CPRS). This role includes examining, evaluating, and managing patients referred for radiology consultations and procedures, as well as interpreting general nuclear medicine studies and breast imaging. Collaboration with fellow radiology professionals is essential to ensure seamless care for the Veterans we serve.
Affiliation with an academic institution, such as the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, is optional. Our facility, located in Oklahoma City, OK, serves as the flagship for the Oklahoma VA Health Care System and is a Joint Commission accredited, referral level 1a (high complexity) center. The Radiology department caters to over 63,000 Veterans across both inpatient and outpatient settings, covering 48 counties in Oklahoma and 2 counties in North Central Texas. Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30, including on-call responsibilities as needed. Since inpatients are managed by the hospitalist service, call duties are generally light, although evening or weekend work may occasionally be required.

Preference is given to U.S. Citizens; non-U.S. Citizens may also be considered.

A current, full, and unrestricted medical or surgical license to practice in the U.S. is required.

Board Certification in Radiology is preferred, though Board Eligibility will also be considered. Additional board certification in Internal Medicine is advantageous.
The starting salary for this position is $400,000.00 annually.

A sign-on bonus is available, along with the potential for an annual performance bonus of up to $15,000.
