Position:
New Jersey Construction Project Engineer/Coordinator - Owner’s Rep Pharma Manufacturing Capital Projects
Location: Linden / Carteret, NJ Area
Position Summary:
The Spear Group has a great career opportunity for a Construction Project Engineer with 1-4 years’ experience, to join our Spear Group team supporting our life sciences/pharma manufacturing client with their capital projects on site in NJ at their campus. This role will support the pharma owners/stakeholders Project Manager engineering team with construction project responsibilities to help organize, track, progress, and deliver for the capital project(s).
Key Responsibilities:
The Construction Project Engineer will support the owner’s CAPEX team by coordinating design and construction phase duties and many project end to end duties related to:
- Project procurement activities
- A/E team interaction and support
- Design team interaction and support
- Construction Management team interaction and support
- Stakeholder / Owner Project Management and Senior Engineering team support and coordination
- Project Coordinator support involving documents, checklists, project assessments, project processes and workflows.
- Track project deliverables and deadlines
- Support internal routing, approvals, and document control
- Support the Project Manager and Project Engineer with meeting attendance, site visits, etc.
- Monitor incoming documentation that requires immediate attention (i.e., track action items, monitor progress)
- Understand and help maintain permitting timelines (internal and external)
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in either construction management or engineering or related degree
- 1-4 years of experience in capital project design and / or construction industry, preferably on owner’s side but not required.
- Understanding of design deliverables, permitting and preconstruction sequencing
- Ability to read drawings and interpret basic technical information
- Proficiency with project management tools and documentation workflow
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Team player.
