Behavioral Health Solutions is a team of mental health treatment professionals who specialize in providing comprehensive behavioral health services in Skilled Nursing Facilities and through SNF, Outpatient, and Telehealth. As we expand as a leading provider, we are seeking skilled professionals of the highest caliber of integrity.
As a Medical assistant within our organization, you will play a critical role in providing clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers. This role involves assisting with patient care, performing clinical tasks directed by providers, and ensuring the smooth operation of outpatient program.
JOB TYPE:
- Full-time (Monday through Friday)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with clinical providers and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Assist with patient education on treatment, medication, and continuity of care.
- Update and maintain accurate patient charts, including medical history, test results, and allergies.
- Ensure the confidentiality of patient records and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate with patients regarding follow-up appointments, test results, and general inquiries.
- Provide patients with instructions for medications.
- Relay important messages between clinical providers, staff, and patients when necessary.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments for consultations, orders, or follow-ups.
- Coordinate the scheduling of tests, treatments, prior authorization, or specialist referrals as needed.
- Perform additional tasks, duties, and assignments as specified by your supervisor.

- Critical Thinking: Sound clinical judgment and critical thinking skills to assess and resolve matters.

- Use of Technology: Proficient in the use of a PC; in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; and in the use of MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Proficient in the use of EHR software systems, preferably AthenaOne.
REQUIREMENTS:
- An individual must be able to perform the essential functions satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to learn, execute tasks, and train others on EMR functions and workflows.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant Program is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a healthcare-related field as Medical Assistant or similar role.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record-keeping system.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.

PAY:
- $17 - $19.00 per hour
