Wild Onion Market is a community-owned food co-op dedicated to building a more sustainable and equitable local food system. We provide high-quality, responsibly sourced food while supporting local farmers, producers, and our neighborhood community.

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and values-driven Bookkeeper to support our cooperative’s financial health and transparency. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that our financial records are accurate, timely, and aligned with the cooperative’s mission and principles.


About Wild Onion Market

This position offers flexible scheduling and a hybrid work arrangement — with most work completed remotely and periodic in-store hours for financial coordination, deposits, and record-keeping. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for the following:

  • Coding vendor invoices and UNFI invoices
  • Auditing vendor statements for missing invoices
  • Responding to invoice inquiries
  • Managing the account payable email address
  • Working with leads and managers to solve invoice and payment questions


Work Schedule & Environment

  • Flexible hours that can be adjusted around your schedule.
  • Hybrid work environment: majority of bookkeeping tasks can be done remotely, with some on-site hours each week for deposits, coordination, and collaboration.
  • Occasional evening or weekend availability for meetings may be requested.

Requirements:

Required:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting (2+ years preferred).
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.


Preferred:

  • Experience with cooperative businesses, natural foods, or grocery retail.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit or member-owned financial structures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
