Role Overview: Reporting to the Regional Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing various accounting and financial functions including the month-end closing process, accounts receivable/payable, and financial reporting for our various operating brands.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct month end journal entries, as well as balance sheet and G/L reconciliations
- Communicate with various internal and external stakeholders with prompt and professional responses to inquiries and requests
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and priorities for the accounting function
- Manages day-to-day finance transaction activities
- Manages Accounts Receivable, communicating with customers and sales management about past due accounts
- Manages Accounts Payable, assists with accounts payable, including ensuring proper account allocations
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Prepares and posts monthly journal entries as assigned; Entries include but not limited to Cash, Payroll, AR and AP
- Maintains and balances accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies
- Manages and maintains records for sales tax purposes and assist with tax filings
- Summarizes financial status by collecting information, preparing financial statements, and creating reports
- Assists with information collection for all types of audits
- Follow policies and procedures related to handling funds and accepted accounting procedures
- Assists with projects and other duties as assigned

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 1+ years relevant work experience
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, Quickbooks Online and Desktop preferred; Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, accomplish tasks and resolve issues with a sense of urgency under tight timelines with high attention to detail

Compensation & Location:
- Salary Range: As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $65,000 to $75,000. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time. This position qualifies for benefits.
- Location: This role is open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S. and may be performed remotely. If the selected candidate resides in the Chicagoland area, the position will follow a hybrid schedule, with regular in-office presence expected at our office in downtown Chicago.
