Part-Time Teacher & Director (Combined Role)

North Hills Cooperative Preschool

Please read before applying: This is a combined Teacher/Director position. The candidate will teach in the classroom each school day and serve as the preschool director. This is not a director-only position.

North Hills Cooperative Preschool is seeking a warm, organized, and enthusiastic educator to lead our parent cooperative preschool.

Applicants must meet California Community Care Licensing requirements for both Preschool Teacher and Preschool Director, including the required Early Childhood Education units and experience. Details available at ccld.ca.gov

Schedule

• Tuesday-Friday
• Teacher/Director hours: 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m (5 hours).
• Student class time: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
• Additional compensated administrative time (approximately 5-10 hours per month) may be required to complete director responsibilities outside regular classroom hours.

This position combines classroom teaching with preschool administration. As a cooperative preschool, you'll be supported by an active Board of Directors and parent volunteers who share many classroom and administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

• Teach and plan a developmentally appropriate preschool program.
• Prepare the classroom and guide parent volunteers.
• Communicate with families.
• Maintain California licensing compliance.
• Schedule required monthly fire and earthquake drills.
• Assist with enrollment, tours, and marketing.
• Collaborate with the Board on budgeting, events, field trips, and school operations.
• Maintain communication with our church facility.
