Electrical Engineer

Location: Cincinnati

About the Role

Emery Oleochemicals is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support capital projects, plant reliability, and electrical/instrumentation systems across our manufacturing operations. This role partners with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable electrical infrastructure in a chemical processing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate electrical scope during construction, commissioning, and project handover

  • Develop and review electrical designs (single-line diagrams, grounding plans, motor control schematics) in compliance with NEC

  • Perform electrical calculations to support system design and equipment selection

  • Generate and review loop drawings, instrument plans, and specification sheets

  • Partner with engineering consultants on power distribution systems for capital projects

  • Prepare design specifications and scopes for small to mid-size projects

  • Support Maintenance with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of electrical/instrumentation issues

  • Participate in FAT, commissioning, and start-up activities

  • Support development of preventive and predictive maintenance programs

  • Recommend and ensure proper installation of electrical equipment

  • Maintain and improve site electrical standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)

  • 2–5 years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment

  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), including classified areas

  • Experience with 480V distribution, motor controls, and instrumentation

  • Exposure to medium voltage systems preferred

  • Experience in chemical or process manufacturing preferred

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with PLC/DCS systems

  • Understanding of process safety (PSM) and MOC

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
