Job Description

This role focuses on assembling wooden crates and A-frames using hand and power tools to support safe and efficient shipping operations. You will build products to specification, follow work orders and blueprints, and consistently meet quality and safety standards within set timeframes.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble wooden crates and A-frames using power tools such as nail guns and hammers.
  • Use hand tools and a tape measure to ensure accurate measurements and precise assembly.
  • Follow work orders and blueprints to build crates that meet specified dimensions and requirements.
  • Ensure all wooden crates are sturdy, secure, and suitable for shipping purposes.
  • Meet established quality control standards for every crate produced.
  • Complete all assigned tasks within the given timeframe and production schedule.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Follow all safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures while operating tools and equipment.
  • Report any issues, defects, or concerns promptly to the supervisor or manager.
  • Perform all other related duties as directed by the supervisor to support production needs.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of manufacturing experience.
  • At least 6 months of experience using a tape measure accurately in a work setting.
  • At least 6 months of experience working with hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to safely operate power tools such as nail guns and hammers.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders and basic blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure crates meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Capability to complete tasks efficiently within designated timeframes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Comfort working in a production or general labor environment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability in attendance and task completion.
  • Willingness to take direction and communicate issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Basic understanding of general production processes and assembly work.

Work Environment

The role is based in a small, family-like production environment with a wide open-concept layout that supports visibility and collaboration. Work involves assembling wooden crates and A-frames using hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and following work orders and blueprints. This is a first-shift position, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The dress code consists of jeans, a t-shirt, and steel-toed boots, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is supplied by the company.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Owatonna, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
