Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Shear Brake Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crimping down metal end caps on wire mesh and cutting materials to size using shear brake equipment. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate shear brake machinery to crimp metal end caps on wire mesh.
- Accurately measure and cut materials to specified sizes.
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Document production activities and maintain accurate records.
Essential Skills
- Ability to operate brake/shear press accurately and safely.
- Proficiency in using a tape measure with precision to 1/16 of an inch.
- Experience in machine operation, blueprint reading, and fabrication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Shear Brake Operator or similar role.
- Strong understanding of metalworking and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

Work Environment
The work schedule is a second shift from 4:30 pm to 3:00 am, Monday through Thursday, with optional shifts on Friday and Saturday. The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift and move heavy materials, and prolonged periods of standing while operating machinery. Employees are encouraged to maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manheim, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
