Job Description

Job Description

Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding, high-impact role supporting high school students as an integral part of an emotional and behavioral support program. This contract opportunity spans the academic year through June 2026, and offers the chance to foster real change for students in grades 9–12 navigating emotional or behavioral challenges.

Your days will be dynamic as you assist students in both mainstream and specialized educational settings. Most students spend the majority of their day in general education classrooms — often with a co-teacher — then participate in focused sessions centered on self-regulation, coping skills, transition-to-adulthood strategies, and building successful work habits.

Ideal candidates have an even-keeled presence, are unfazed by challenging behaviors, and truly understand the impact of patience and respect on building meaningful student connections. Confidence, coachability, and the ability to relate authentically with older teens is essential.

What you’ll bring:

  • Prior experience as a paraprofessional or behavior specialist, particularly with high school-aged students
  • Comfort in independently monitoring groups or pushing in to large general education classes
  • Ability to contribute actively in a smaller, specialized classroom
  • Resilience in the face of behaviors such as moodiness, abrasiveness, or withdrawal
  • Technological proficiency and the ability to guide students through high school-level assignments on computers
  • Strong rapport-building and respectful communication skills

Key responsibilities:

  • Support students in mainstream and emotional support settings
  • Assist in implementing self-regulation and coping strategy lessons
  • Encourage academic task completion and skill building
  • Help students with transitions and life-readiness skills

Position Details:

  • Full school day hours: 7:15am–2:25pm, Monday–Friday
  • Contract through June 10, 2026

Ready to empower students and put your skills to work in a life-changing environment? Submit your application today and take the next step in your education support career!
