MKCI is a comprehensive civil litigation defense firm with a proven track record of successfully defending clients in high-stakes cases. Although our attorneys are skilled in handling diverse legal matters, our expertise lies in litigating and trying complex cases related to product liability (including asbestos and talc claims), premises liability, commercial transportation, public entities, construction defects, labor law, insurance coverage, environmental issues, medical malpractice, and warranty.


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Attorney with experience litigating asbestos/talc/mass tort cases to join our Boston office. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to provide high-quality legal representation to our clients.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Attend depositions and court appearances.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
  • Retention of and coordination with experts.
  • Preparation of expert an lay witnesses for deposition.
  • Preparation of cases for trial.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal matters.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy and management.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis - all MKCI attorneys and legal professionals are trained to utilize Westlaw Precision and CoCounsel AI programs to facilitate workflow efficiencies.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in the State of Massachusetts required. Additional admission to practice in New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Connecticut preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of litigation experience as an attorney (salary commensurate with experience).
  • Previous Asbestos/Talc Litigation (defense side) experience preferred.
  • Superior analytical skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong worth ethic and commitment to client service.
