Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for an Elementary School Special Education Teacher serving students with severe and profound disabilities. The position is a contract role for the current school year, located in the Cranston, RI area. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting the academic and social development of students in an elementary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students with severe and profound needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, aides, and families to ensure comprehensive support
  • Adapt curriculum and instruction methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with educational standards
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and engagement

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Severe and Profound Licensure in special education
  • Experience teaching in an elementary school setting, preferably with students requiring significant support
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional strategies for severe and profound disabilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Patience, creativity, and dedication to student-centered teaching
