Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding contract position as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher serving a preschool caseload in the Denver area. This onsite opportunity is perfect for professionals passionate about making an impact on young learners by providing specialized education within a supportive school environment.
You’ll be working full-time (37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday) at a single campus, focusing on students ages 3-5. The anticipation is for a manageable, capped caseload of up to 15 students. While students attend Monday through Thursday, Fridays are reserved for team planning and collaboration, supporting a balanced and organized workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, instruct, and support preschool students with diverse needs across various service models, including in-class and pull-out sessions.
- Implement and interpret standardized assessments for eligibility, as well as general education assessments in literacy and math for effective programming.
- Foster a positive learning environment while collaborating actively with other educators and specialists during dedicated planning time.
- Maintain thorough records, contribute to IEP meetings, and engage families in the educational process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited institution.
- Valid Colorado teaching certification in one of the following Early Childhood Special Ed areas: birth to age 8 (Grades P3-2), birth to age 5 (Grade P3-K), or ages 3 through 8 (Grades P3-2).
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and special education methodologies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and communicate professionally with families.
- Successful completion of a background check required post-offer.
