Description
The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting the company’s financial health. The ideal candidate is well-versed in general accounting principles and possesses strong analytical skills. This position requires close collaboration with various departments to maintain accurate financial reporting and support business operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing procedures.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and intercompany transactions.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant financial regulations.
- Support external audits and tax preparation by providing necessary documentation.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Monitor inventory accounting, including cost analysis and valuation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the optimization of accounting workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and financial decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across departments.
- Experience with inventory accounting and cost analysis is a plus.
Work Environment:
- You will join a close-knit team of five, including the Controller, Staff Accountant, AP Specialist, and AR Specialist. Initially, the position will be onsite during training, transitioning to a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote. The schedule rotates to allow for some Fridays off. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $39.00/hr.
