The ideal RF/Microwave Technician supports manufacturing, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of RF and microwave components, sub-assemblies, and final products. The position works closely with engineering and production teams to ensure products meet performance and quality standards.
Requirements
• Perform assembly, sub‐assembly, final assembly, calibration, and testing of RF and electronic products.
• Work with engineers to define test setups, calibration steps, and testing procedures.
• Conduct rework, repairs, and quality checks on parts, components, and assemblies.
• Assemble and tune RF/microwave components and prototype systems.
• Diagnose and correct circuit or component issues using network analyzers, power meters, and signal generators.
• Modify equipment by adding or removing components based on diagrams and schematics.
• Repair and adjust equipment using layout plans, blueprints, sketches, or manuals.
• Identify malfunctions and replace or adjust parts as needed.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in manufacturing or test equipment.
• Record and compile test results; assist in improving manufacturing methods and procedures.
• Use automated test systems to evaluate product performance and document results.
• High school diploma (or equivalent) with 4+ years of experience, or trade school with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong working knowledge of RF test equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, RF generators, oscilloscopes, frequency meters, power meters).
• Solid analog and digital troubleshooting skills.
• Strong soldering skills, including microscope‐level rework.
• IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certifications preferred.
• Experience with LabView or automated test equipment programming is a major plus.
• Hands‐on, proactive, and able to work effectively in a small‐team environment.
• Team‐oriented mindset and awareness of ESD practices.
• Formal training or experience working with RF receivers, especially in military environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with ERP systems.
