Leading Freight Forwarder / NVOCC/ Tank Container Operator / Customs House Broker, with locations in 24 countries and over 3300 employees strong, is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the position of Contract Logistics Coordinator in our Houston, TX office. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to participate in the continued growth and expansion of a well-respected organization.


What You’ll Do

  • Receives, reviews and processes high volume, and/or complex transactions for assigned base of accounts.
  • Processes data through the clients’ ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Software.
  • Acts as Liaison between the clients, the warehouse and the Leschaco operations team.
  • Prepares and maintains all shipment related documents
  • Prepares daily outbound shipments and tracking their delivery times according to schedule (release, load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
  • Handles inbound shipments from pre-alerts to receive in inventory
  • Maintains accurate inventory records so that inventory lists and/or databases reflect how much stock is in the warehouse at any given time.
  • Creates reports showing which inventory items are being purchased and sold.
  • When inventory is available in the system to fulfill an order, gives instructions the warehouse so that the orders are prepared for shipping and other types of distribution to customers.
  • Ensures delivery schedule is maintained and promptly alert supervisors if a delay occurs or is likely.
  • Develops and maintains excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements

Requirements:

What You Bring

  • Minimum 1- 2 years of experience in Warehousing, Contract Logistics and Freight Forwarding
  • WMS System experience
  • Knowledge of current Customs regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and related directives of government agencies (including but not limited to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Agriculture Department (USDA) is a plus)
  • Experience in Import Customs Clearance operations a plus
  • Experience with the handling of hazardous materials a plus
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, be a team player and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Access
  • Have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • ERP Skills a Plus
  • JDE and SAP software experience would be plus.
