Job DescriptionSalary: $15-$25

JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibility is to operate the fitting machines and produce fittings for the Fabrication Division at Industrial Municipal Supply Co., Inc., hereinafter referred to as IMSCO. This position ensures that the machine is operated efficiently and safely. Must be self-motivated, safety conscious and be able to multitask.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISORS: VP of Manufacturing

WORKERS SUPERVISED: None

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Capable of following instructions
  2. A problem-solving ability with a take charge attitude
  3. Very good physical strength and stamina
  4. Ability to prioritize workload

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Works in multiple settings both indoors and outdoors. Prolong exposure to various temperatures and conditions. Proper Safety Attire will be required at times, this includes but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, FRC, mono goggles, steel toe boots and other items required to perform task.
  2. Ability to communicate easily and effectively, including speaking and writing clearly
  3. Ability to think quickly and utilize sense of urgency
  4. Ability to sit, stand, bend, walk and lift up to 100 lbs.
  5. Works in close confines and close proximity to others

PRIMARY RESPOSIBILTY AND ESSENTIAL TASKS/ DUTIES

1. Fitting Machine in Proper Working Order

  • No hydraulic leaks
  • Maintains and operates fitting machines in accordance with manufacturing guidelines and ensures it is in optimal operational condition
  • Ability to understand drawings (P&IDs) to carry out tasks given and willingness to ask questions when unsure
  • Ensures that the fitting machines are operated with the utmost safety. Make certain that the power is off at the wall when not in operation to ensure no accidental powers ups that can create a dangerous situation.

2. Preventive Maintenance

  • Fluid levels
  • Ensures no stripped bolts or nuts
  • All bolts tight on clamps and inserts

3. Teamwork

  • During downtime when no orders are in que for the fitting machines, the supervisor will delegate responsibilities to help in other areas
  • Willingness to help others when in need
  • If a coworker is being unsafe tell them to stop and report it to the supervisor immediately
  • Sweep floors and clean shop
  • Operate forklift

4. Safety and Reporting to Work

  • Keep work area clean. Free from tripping hazards or any other unsafe conditions.
  • You must always maintain a safe work environment. If you feel a task, you are being asked to perform is unsafe talk to your supervisor.
  • Clock in time for day shift is 7:30am unless pre-approved by supervisor. Clock out is 4:30. A one-hour lunch is required unless a shorter or longer one is approved by supervisor. Night shift clocks in at 4:00pm and out at 12:00am. If you leave the work area for a lunch break, then clock out. If you are just heating up your lunch and are eating it while operating the fitting machines, then you do not need to clock out.
