Job Description

The Manager of Accounting and Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial insight to support business objectives. This role involves managing accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and developing financial analyses to enhance organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounting Transformation: Responsible for general accounting processes, bank and GL reconciliations, and subledger integrations with ERP.
  • Financial Management: Oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with a team of accountants and finance professionals in creating a high-performance work environment.
  • Financial Reporting/Audit: Prepare and present monthly and annual financial statements to senior management and stakeholders. Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations. Respond to external reporting and audit requests.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage the annual budget process, including variance analysis and financial projections to support strategic decision-making.
  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Coordinate and lead internal and external audits.
  • Cost Management: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements within financial operations.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop financial strategies that align with organizational goals and drive growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • CPA certification is highly desirable.
  • 10 years of experience in accounting and finance
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Intact) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
