Office Manager/Bookkeeper
Payroll – semi-monthly
Payroll taxes – Fed Withholding, Iowa Withholding, Fed and Iowa Unemployment, W2’s
Estimate and pay quarterly Iowa Pass Through Entity Taxes
Accounts Receivable
Record receipts in Quickbooks, Excel, and Billing System
– apply payments to prepaid expenses if necessary
Take deposits to bank
Trust Accounting
Record client retainers in Quickbooks and
Record payment of fees/expenses to firm and vendors (by client)
Reconcile bank account monthly and send Balance Sheet to partners
Periodic reports to clients as requested
401(k) contributions – wages and partner draws
401(k) provide information to Qualified Plan Consultants for annual census and tax filing of 5500
401(k) distribute required plan notices to participants
Financial information to tax preparers, any year end adjustments to books
Bank – reconcile operating and trust accounts monthly
Accounts Payable –
Pay bills and track as appropriate for 1099 filing
Prepaid client expenses, enter in billing system
Interface with service providers, vendors, clients as needed
Insurance Options for renewals
Health
Business Liability, Work Comp (annual Work Comp Insurance Audit)
Professional Liability
Cyber
Legal research subscriptions
Budget/Planning - these items need to be addressed and implemented at the discretion of the Partners
Billing software
Accounting/payroll software
Internet/phone service provider
Storage and Disposal legal documents
