Controls Engineer | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $86,000 - $131,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement control systems for manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing control systems, including PLCs, HMI, and robotics.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and software documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and ensure successful implementation.
• Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance personnel.
• Optimize control system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations in all control system designs.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing, programming, and troubleshooting PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, B&R).
• Proven experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, OPC UA).
• Strong understanding of robotics and automation systems (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA development and implementation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced robotics and vision systems.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and data analytics tools for performance monitoring.
• PLC programming in multiple languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram).
• Certification in a recognized project management methodology (e.g., PMP, Agile).
• Experience with cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.
