The School Psychologist supports elementary students by promoting academic achievement, social-emotional development, and positive behavior through assessment, consultation, and evidence-based interventions. This role collaborates closely with educators, families, and school teams to create supportive learning environments that help all students succeed.



Position Details:


  • Start Date: 08/24/2026
  • End Date: 05/21/2027
  • Schedule: M-F school hours
  • Grade Levels: Elementary
  • Location: In Person, 32 hrs/week
  • School Year: 2026/2027


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments to support eligibility and educational planning.
  • Interpret assessment results and present findings clearly to families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in IEP and eligibility meetings, contributing psychological expertise and recommendations.
  • Provide consultation to teachers and staff on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions.
  • Support the development and monitoring of behavior intervention plans and MTSS frameworks.
  • Deliver short-term counseling and crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Collaborate with families, administrators, and community providers to support student needs.
  • Maintain compliant documentation and reports in accordance with state and federal regulations.


Qualifications:


  • Valid Illinois School Psychologist certification or licensure.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in a school setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of assessment tools, special education law, and IEP processes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
