The School Psychologist supports elementary students by promoting academic achievement, social-emotional development, and positive behavior through assessment, consultation, and evidence-based interventions. This role collaborates closely with educators, families, and school teams to create supportive learning environments that help all students succeed.
Position Details:
- Start Date: 08/24/2026
- End Date: 05/21/2027
- Schedule: M-F school hours
- Grade Levels: Elementary
- Location: In Person, 32 hrs/week
- School Year: 2026/2027
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments to support eligibility and educational planning.
- Interpret assessment results and present findings clearly to families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in IEP and eligibility meetings, contributing psychological expertise and recommendations.
- Provide consultation to teachers and staff on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions.
- Support the development and monitoring of behavior intervention plans and MTSS frameworks.
- Deliver short-term counseling and crisis intervention services as needed.
- Collaborate with families, administrators, and community providers to support student needs.
- Maintain compliant documentation and reports in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois School Psychologist certification or licensure.
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a school setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of assessment tools, special education law, and IEP processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
