Position Overview

Become a part of our team at the Department of Veterans VA Medical Center in San Francisco, CA as a Physician - Gastroenterologist!

The Gastroenterologist will deliver comprehensive medical and specialized services to outpatients, inpatients, and nursing home residents. This role involves providing consultative care to veterans in the field of Gastroenterology. The physician will be tasked with diagnosing, treating, and managing patients suffering from gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders using established and accepted methods. Responsibilities include offering both inpatient and outpatient consultation services related to GI and liver diseases. The physician will also oversee the administration of conscious sedation and perform various GI procedures, such as EGD (gastroscopy), complex stricture dilation, EGD with PEG, colonoscopies, push enteroscopy, GI manometry, Bravo studies, and advanced imaging techniques like NBI and chromoendoscopy.
Additionally, the physician is expected to actively engage in research and educational activities, fulfilling the academic requirements for an appointment with the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program.

The incumbent will play a vital role in the education and training of residents, fellows, medical students, and non-physician clinical trainees, participating in rounds and delivering lectures. The responsibilities of the staff Gastroenterologist will encompass administrative duties, direct patient care, teaching, and research, all of which are interwoven into their daily activities and decision-making processes.

  • Expected Salary Range: Between $300K - $400K (negotiable based on qualifications, credentials, and experience)
