Job Description

The Marketing Specialist plays a key role in supporting the credit union’s mission by helping to attract and engage members through meaningful, brand‑aligned marketing initiatives. This position assists in developing and implementing marketing strategies, creating and managing digital content, coordinating promotional materials, and enhancing community presence. Additionally, the Marketing Specialist supports cross‑departmental efforts by providing research, analytics, and creative insights that strengthen brand visibility and member engagement across all channels.

  • Position: Marketing Specialist
  • Location: On-site in Jackson, MI - As well as traveling to other branches and communities.
  • Wage: $19.08/hour (Competitive)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Focus on Purpose: Align all marketing efforts with the credit union’s mission of creating financial wellness in our community through everyday banking.
  • Marketing Strategy Support: Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies designed to attract new members, promote products and services, and elevate brand awareness.
  • Content Creation & Digital Engagement: Create, manage, and optimize content for social media, the credit union website, and digital communications while ensuring brand consistency.
  • Market Research: Conduct research on member needs, trends, and competitive activity to support strategic decision-making and campaign planning.
  • Creative Collaboration: Work closely with the design team to produce promotional materials, digital graphics, and print collateral aligned with campaign objectives.
  • Community Engagement: Organize and participate in community events, sponsorships, and outreach initiatives that enhance visibility and strengthen relationships.
  • Campaign Analysis: Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives, preparing insights to inform future strategy and improve overall effectiveness.

  • Timely production and coordination of marketing collateral
  • High-quality representation of the credit union at community events
  • Accurate reporting and insights on marketing campaign performance
  • Collaboration with internal teams to support brand consistency and engagement

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferred

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of PC applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems, and basic design tools
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, review, and summarize marketing or engagement data
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas, take initiative, and find solutions to challenges
  • Experience in community engagement or brand promotion is a plus
  • Knowledge of credit union products, services, and policies preferred but not required
