Hours Required: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM (Monday -Friday) with OT, weekends, and coverage for other shifts as required.
Summary/Objective
This position works on the production floor and performs tasks involved in the production of the company’s product. This includes general packaging, stacking, lifting and restocking of material into equipment. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Essential Functions

- Stacks product on pallets verifying correct pattern with the quality management system requirements
- Makes adjustments and basic repairs on tape machines, labelers (including refilling), box makers and conveyors, checks level and fills glue pots throughout shift
- Sets up and verifies accuracy of coders against quality management sheet and schedule
- Verifies correct packaging for product listed in quality management system
- Monitors quality of packaging, product, cases and pallets
- Assembles boxes for hand packing product
- Operates metal detection and x-ray equipment as needed
- Assists where needed on line with set ups, change overs and helps coworkers when line is down
- Visual inspections of codes, seals, packaging. Alerts operator of non-conformance and makes corrections
- Completes paperwork assuring legibility and proper counts, including salvage and project sheets
- Operates equipment: Delkor, Adco, Doboy, Staban, and case packers
- Manages salvaging on line during and after run, knows proper procedures
- Ability to safely operate hand jacks to move or position skids as needed
- Ability to set up and use scales
- Notify operator of any mechanical or material issues
- Participates in Continuous Improvement Process/TPM
- Follows all Quality policies & procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
- Follows all Safety policies & procedures and participates in monthly observations
- Maintains regular, predictable attendance

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in an environment with the following conditions:

The use of steel-toed safety shoes, ear plugs, hair/beard nets, lab coats, and other personal protective equipment is required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours vary depending on the shift and department. Overtime and weekend work is required at times.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in a food manufacturing environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude

Food Safety and Product Quality
This position is responsible for supporting the food safety management system and for communicating food safety issues to the Quality Department.
