We're partnering with a well-established medical device and healthcare company on the search for an Accountant II to join its accounting team.
Reporting to the senior leadership, this role owns day-to-day accounting operations and offers broad, hands-on exposure to the full accounting function. It's a strong fit for someone looking to build out their skill set, or for a candidate ready to grow into a Senior Accountant-level role over time.
What you'll be doing:
- Support month-end close and prepare complex journal entries with supporting documentation.
- Process vendor payments and ensure accurate expense classification.
- Monitor cash activity and customer accounts, and resolve discrepancies as they arise.
- Review employee expense reports and manage billing and utility payments across multiple properties.
- Reconcile corporate credit cards, maintain prepaid expense and fixed asset schedules, and perform monthly account reconciliations.
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and support both internal and external audit requests.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen controls.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience; healthcare or medical device experience preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting
- Solid Excel skills and comfort working within an ERP system
- Sharp, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
This is a fully onsite role based on Long Island, NY, five days a week.
