We are seeking an individual to join our team of knowledgeable insurance professionals as an assistant to our commercial lines account managers. Although experience in the insurance agency environment is preferred, it is not required for the right individual.
Responsibilities
The assistant is to work with our commercial lines account managers in a professional manner and to help them with the routine tasks and phone calls to allow them the time to spend with remarketing and other difficult service issues. This requires someone with a true team attitude. The following are some of the tasks that will need to be performed by the assistant:
- Prepare applications as needed to submit to companies for renewal quotations. Prepare binders, certificates, ID cards and other necessary items as needed. Check and process policies when received, request corrections and follow up on all requests.
- Handle renewal activity on direct bill renewal policies including renewal letters, checking of policies and updating of the agency management system.
- Handle routine requests for endorsements and certificates including any needed follow-up and/or required processing.
- Submit claim notices to the company as needed and follow up on all first-party claims. Follow up on third-party claims as necessary to relieve any aggravation being caused to the customer.
Qualifications
It is preferred for the individual to have insurance agency experience and a 4-40 license. However, someone with exceptionally high intelligence and communication skills could be trained for this position. It is expected that the assistant be highly computer literate, be able to multi-task, and possess the following skills.
- Physical and mental stamina to work through a full day of demands and pressures.
- Speak English clearly without an accent or speech impediment.
- A quality of vision that will allow reading of documents and computer screens without assistance.
- Full two-handed typing skills to perform the necessary computer tasks without assistance.
About Us
Filer Insurance is a third generation, professional, growth oriented independent insurance agency. We are located in the Kendall area of Miami-Dade County just around the corner from the Dadeland Mall.
Our office hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, with 1 hour allowed for lunch, a 37.5 hour work week. Underwriters are allowed 4 weeks paid time off in addition to the usual holidays. The agency pays the full cost of health insurance and offers a 401k plan you can contribute to. We also pay the full cost of all Continuing Education and other schools.
As always, salaries are commensurate with knowledge and abilities.
