Job DescriptionDie, Fixture, and Gauge Fabrication Specialist Role purpose

Own the end-to-end lifecycle of precision tooling—designing, machining, assembling, and maintaining the tools that keep production moving with accuracy and consistency.

Key responsibilities

  • Fabricate, repair, and sustain tools, dies, jigs, gauges, fixtures, extrusion dies, and calibrators
  • Set up and run Wire EDM (WEDM), CNC vertical mills, and manual machines
  • Program CNC equipment using CAD/CAM; verify and optimize toolpaths at the machine
  • Translate blueprints/specs into dimensionally correct parts within tight tolerances
  • Measure with calipers, micrometers, and depth micrometers to validate quality
  • Deliver tooling on schedule without compromising precision
  • Maintain an orderly, safe, and efficient toolroom
  • Comply with and support the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Engage in safety training and continuous skill development
  • Provide guidance to less-experienced shop personnel
  • Promote positive culture and continuous improvement
  • Assist with additional tasks to support team goals

Required qualifications

  • Technical College education in Machine/Tool Processes or equivalent practical experience
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and precision measurement
  • Hands-on experience with machining equipment
  • Dependable attendance and a solid work ethic

Preferred qualifications

  • 4+ years as a Toolmaker or Machinist
  • Experience with CAD/CAM programming
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong math foundation and organizational skills

Physical requirements

  • Regularly lift up to 30 lbs; occasionally up to 60 lbs with assistance
  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist, and carry tools/materials during 8–12 hour shifts
  • Ability and willingness to support a 24-hour / 5-day-per-week manufacturing operation
