Job Description

The Residence Life Office Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the housing office located in Jackson Hall. Management of the housing office includes supervision of student employees and responsibility for daily administrative tasks.

Essential Functions

  • To understand and commit to the Mission of the College- “Dodge City Community College provides a student-centered learning environment where students can achieve their educational, personal and career goals”.
  • Provide office support for the Director of Residence Life and all Residence Life professional staff.
  • Maintain the Electronic key card system and assist with the Food service system database.
  • Receive and assist all office visitors and conduct tours as needed.
  • Process housing contracts, room keys, maintain accurate student records and draft letters for semesters check in & check out.
  • Supervise mail distribution process and oversee daily operations of the housing office and student staff.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls.
  • Assist in enforcing Student Code of Conduct and other housing policies.
  • Assist with conferences, enrollment days and other housing activities as needed.
  • Produce weekly reports as assigned by the Director of Residence Life and the Vice President of Student Services.
  • Oversee and maintain Resident Assistant office hours, meetings, rounds and activities as designated by the Director of Residence Life.
  • Process requisitions, purchase orders, work orders and maintain appropriate records.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Residence Life and/or the Vice President of Student Services.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Experience working with computer information systems
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Accuracy in keyboarding and filing skills
  • Willingness to work as a team member in a high traffic area
  • Must maintain a valid drivers license
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work well with students, peers and supervisors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree
  • Minimum of three years Administrative Assistant or related experience in a higher education setting
  • Ability to work with multiple projects simultaneously
  • Previous experience with database management and Excel spreadsheets

Physical RequirementsWith or Without Assistance:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely in written form and verbally
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time
  • Motor skills and dexterity to access campus locations
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 35lbs
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel as necessary to perform the responsibilities of this position
