Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC 28273
Hours: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift
Salary: $75,000/year
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to serve as a key link between Engineering and Operations. This role focuses on improving the manufacturing process for mechanical products, overseeing production testing, and driving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support mechanical assembly processes by interpreting design models and drawings, ensuring accurate implementation on the shop floor.
- Collaborate with production leads to develop solutions for mechanical design and manufacturing challenges.
- Oversee factory acceptance testing (FAT) and equipment qualification testing (EQT) for mechanical systems.
- Create and implement engineering change requests (ECRs) to improve design and production outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve product quality, consistency, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Support root-cause analysis with QA and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Develop methods, tooling, and process improvements to optimize mechanical assembly and reduce cycle time.
- Work closely with Project Managers to protect budgets and production timelines.
- Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in a mechanical manufacturing or production engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, assembly processes, and manufacturing best practices.
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred); AutoCAD experience a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with ERP systems considered an asset.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root-cause problem solving.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within North America (with occasional international travel).
