Job Summary
Taurus Power and Controls - a Pacific Northern Environmental LLC Company, is seeking an Automation Technician who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and has the ability to provide exceptional service to our company, clients, and employees.
Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of five divisions include Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Taurus Power and Controls (Taurus), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. PNE LLC is a mult-state organization with operating offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii. In addition, we have multiple job sites across the US.
Since 1985, Taurus has been designing control systems, automating tasks, and fabricating control panels for industrial, municipal, and commercial customers-on time and on budget. Taurus is a NETA Accredited Company that offers full-service, third party, independent testing for all electrically powered systems and equipment. Being a 24/7 field service company remains at the core of what we do. We have expertise in a wide array of systems and industries, whether its servicing projects we developed, or systems built by others.
The AutomationTechnician is responsible for having the ability and knowledge to preform start-up and testing services on Instrumentation, VFDs, Emergency Lighting Inverters, PLC's and other industrial control equipment
Education and Experience Qualifications
Previous employment involving troubleshooting of industrial devices required.
AAS Degree in Instrumentation, mechatronics, industrial electronics, industrial controls or 1+ years experience in any of the previously mentioned fields required.- Understanding hazards around electrical circuits
Customer relation and communication skills, report writing, self-starter mentality
Familiarity and experience working on any of the following equipment:
VFDs
PLCs
DC Drives
Instrumentation (Flow sensors/meters, Level sensors/meters, etc)
UPSs, battery systems, lighting inverters
Duties and Responsibilities
The Automation Technician possessing the education and experience listed above performs the following:
Ability and knowledge to Preform Start-up and testing services on Instrumentation, VFDs, Emergency Lighting Inverters, PLC's and other industrial control equipment
Ability to identify problems and troubleshoot failure in the above mentioned items
Ability to work independently when required
Flexibility in working hours required: work is typically 8am - 5pm during the week but occasionally after hours and weekend work is required by our customers. Overtime hours available.
Have reliable transportation to travel to and from office or a customers site
Flexibility to travel to out of area jobs for up to a two-week duration. Most of our work is local but occasionally work takes place at a customers site within Oregon, Washington, or Idaho.
Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:
Move about the jobsite as needed.
Move work related equipment up to 50lbs.
Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
Operate various technological devices, including but not limited to a computer.
Occasionally ascend/descend ladders and/or stairs.
