Assistant Controller / CPA

Location – Atlanta, GA (Sandy Springs)

Onsite/Hybrid: Monday–Thursday, hybrid Friday only (#LI-Hybrid)

Job Details:

• National Insurance is hiring an Assistant Controller to support the Corporate Controller across technical accounting, reinsurance accounting, accounting policy, internal controls, and tax coordination.
• We need a hands-on CPA with strong US GAAP/ASC 944, with strong experience
• Insurance/reinsurance/warranty experience.
• This is a great role for a Big 4 Senior / Manager or similar profile who wants broader ownership in a growing, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead technical accounting research and application, ensuring compliance with US GAAP (especially ASC 944 – Insurance) and regulatory standards.
• Provide analytical support for the monthly financial reporting package.
• Support the financial close process and preparation of financial disclosures.
• Develop, maintain, and update accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements (Must-Haves)

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA required – will verify credential and state(s)
• 4 years of progressive accounting experience

Preferred Skills

• Big 4 / National Firm: Seniors or Managers in Audit or Advisory with insurance clients, looking to move into industry.
• Insurance / Warranty / Reinsurance Companies:
• Senior Accountants (technical/insurance accounting focus)

Base Salary – $130,000+ – $145,000 ( 15% target bonus ) - Based on experience
