Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Central Time)Job SummaryThe Medical Laboratory Scientist (Traveler) will provide clinical laboratory testing support for multiple sites within the Dallas–Fort Worth region, specializing in STAT Hematology and Chemistry. This is a float position that provides coverage for call-outs and PTO across five laboratory locations.The ideal candidate must be MLS/MLT certified, possess strong technical knowledge in Hematology and Chemistry, and demonstrate adaptability when working across different facilities.Primary Work Locations

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate testing and analysis of Hematology and Chemistry specimens.
  • Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling, processing, and result reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and quality assurance standards.
  • Adhere to quality control policies, documenting all maintenance and calibration.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues affecting test performance; escalate when appropriate.
  • Maintain detailed records of all testing and corrective actions taken.
  • Ensure critical and STAT results are reported promptly to providers.
  • Participate in safety training, inspections, and department meetings.
  • Keep laboratory workspaces clean, organized, and inspection-ready.
  • Support workflow continuity across multiple sites as assigned.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology preferred.
  • Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology accepted.
  • Must meet CLIA requirements and provide a transcript or credential evaluation if foreign-educated.

Required Certifications

  • MLS (ASCP) or MLT (ASCP/AMT) certification required.
  • Current CPR certification preferred.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience performing high-complexity testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in multi-site or high-volume lab environments.
  • Solid understanding of QC/QA principles and instrument operation.
