Summary

Family Tree Ministry is seeking a loving, patient, and dedicated Lead Infant Teacher who feels genuinely called to care for and nurture our youngest children (3 weeks – 12 months). This role is perfect for someone who finds joy in supporting early development, providing comfort, and creating a peaceful, faith-centered environment for infants. Our Lead Infant Teacher leads the classroom with confidence, intentionality, and professionalism, ensuring the highest standard of care rooted in Christian values.

Duties

  • Create a warm, safe, and nurturing environment that supports bonding, attachment, and early learning.
  • Provide individualized care for each infant, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and developmental play.
  • Integrate gentle, age-appropriate Christian songs, prayer, and faith-based interactions throughout the day.
  • Plan and implement simple, developmentally appropriate sensory activities to support motor, cognitive, and social-emotional growth.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and peaceful classroom that meets all safety and sanitation standards.
  • Lead the classroom team, share responsibilities with assistant teachers, and ensure smooth daily routines.
  • Clearly delegate tasks and provide guidance, support, and training to assistant teachers.
  • Build trusting, professional relationships with families through daily communication and updates.
  • Observe and document each infant’s developmental progress and communicate any concerns promptly.
  • Follow all program policies, safety guidelines, and state regulations.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.



Requirements

  • Must be at least 20 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional early childhood training preferred.
  • Previous experience caring for infants in a professional or volunteer setting.
  • Ability to follow safety and health guidelines, including safe sleep practices.
  • Strong communication, teamwork skills, and take directions from lead teacher.
  • Commitment to working in a faith-based, Christ-centered environment.
