Job Description: Radiologic Technologist
Location: Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
Shift: AM | 10-hour shifts (4x10s: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, every other weekend)
Alternative Option: 5x8s (7:30 AM–4:00 PM)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: Full-time
Pay Rate: $64/hour
Position Summary
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations while ensuring safe, accurate, and high-quality imaging. This role also includes equipment operation, maintaining records, and supporting physicians during procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations using proper positioning, identification, and exposure techniques.
- Operate all equipment within the radiology modality and follow safety standards.
- Adjust and set up immobilization devices and radiation protection equipment.
- Evaluate patient body size, condition, age, and suspected pathology to ensure appropriate imaging techniques.
- Assist physicians during imaging procedures as needed.
- Report equipment malfunctions and request adjustments or repairs.
- Maintain accurate imaging records and related documentation.
- Assist with Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures.
- Participate in training and mentoring radiology students.
- Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and job-specific requirements.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (required)
- ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification (must be obtained within 24 months)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to serve as a preceptor when needed
- Experience in radiology workflow and imaging equipment operation
