Dock Worker
Full Time/40 hours per week
Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
$14.00/hour

What you’ll be doing as a Dock Worker
The Dock Worker assists the Dock Coordinator with the orderly flow of goods through warehouse. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and use personal protective devices as required for work environment. This position is responsible for the loading and unloading of vehicles and performing operational tasks using the appropriate equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Load and unload agency vehicles using suitable equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Assist truck drivers with house calls and store load deliveries when needed.
- Operate cart dumper and trash compactor
- Maintain a safe work environment. Ensure the dock areas are clean and free of clutter in order to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Follow agency procedures and policies established for safety, quality control and equipment operations.
- Participate in meetings, conferences and on committees as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned when needed.
- Assist when needed with other production areas such as mattress deconstruction, etc.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with other dock employees cooperatively to complete tasks.
- Ability to become forklift certified
Education and Experience
- Preferred high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Forklift training preferred
- Minimum one year work experience preferred
Physical Requirements
These work environment factors are general in nature and may vary depending on the specific position being filled. CONSTANT: Walk and near vision. FREQUENT: Bend neck; talk/speak; and visual accommodation. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. OCCASIONAL: Lift and carry up to 100 pounds; rotate neck, static neck position; sit; hear within 5 feet and midrange vision.
