  • Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) / Open Heart ICU\n
  • Contract Duration: 13-week travel contract (Start: 5/18/2026, End: 8/17/2026)\n
  • Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)\n
  • Hours per Week: 36\n
  • Travel Assignment: Float to Martin North, Martin South, and Tradition hospitals within 20 miles as needed\n

\n\nCVICU RN Job Requirements\n

    \n
  • Minimum 18 months recent CVICU or Open Heart ICU experience (2 years preferred) — critical care nursing experience required\n
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida\n
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of submission\n
  • NIHSS certification (must obtain prior to start)\n
  • EPIC electronic charting experience\n
  • Nicotine-free (negative cotinine drug screen required)\n
  • Ability to float within scope to Martin North, Martin South, and Tradition hospitals\n
  • First-time travel nurses welcome\n
  • Submit all requested time off (RTO) up front\n
  • 2 professional references from direct supervisor/manager required\n
  • COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)\n

\n\nKey CVICU Responsibilities\n

    \n
  • Provide expert critical care to cardiovascular patients, including post-open heart and complex cardiac surgery recovery\n
  • Manage mechanical ventilation and advanced cardiac support devices (Swan-Ganz, IABP, Impella)\n
  • Monitor and interpret hemodynamics, arterial lines, cardiac drips, and EKGs\n
  • Administer continuous IV sedation, titrate vasoactive drips, and manage BiPAP/CPAP\n
  • Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs), perform suctioning (ETT, NT), and maintain isolation precautions/PPE\n
  • Complete EKG and pharmacology competency tests during orientation (study materials provided)\n
  • Prioritize timely completion of onboarding modules and compliance tasks\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (cardiology, anesthesia, respiratory therapy) to ensure optimal patient outcomes\n
