Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An educational opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within a K-12 school setting. This role involves delivering specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, fostering their academic, social, and munication development throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Utilize various teaching strategies and assistive technologies to enhance learning experiences
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, audiologists, and support staff
- Monitor students progress and adjust instruction methods accordingly
- Provide consultative services to teachers and families to support student success
- Maintain accurate records and municate regularly with parents and guardians
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with K-12 students in a similar instructional role
- Strong knowledge of sign language and munication methods appropriate for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing munity
- Excellent interpersonal and munication skills
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
