At this time, we’re only considering candidates with direct commercial landscape construction estimating experience, ideally coming from a competitor in the same space.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate continuous improvement, an innovative approach, and a positive attitude. This position requires focus, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple bids efficiently.
Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed material take-offs from drawings and plans.

Coordinate drawings and scopes to ensure proper bid coverage.

Prepare detailed estimate breakdowns, including cost analysis of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.

Prepare and submit RFIs for projects as needed.

Understand and interpret contractual terms and conditions.

Organize material and subcontractor quotations to ensure compliance with contract documents and alignment with project buy-out strategies.

Analyze drawings and specifications to determine comprehensive project requirements.

Strategize bids, competitors, margins, and bid closures.

Complete budgeting input in accounting software systems.

Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.

Ensure all documentation is organized in estimating folders for seamless turnover to production.

Conduct site visits to gather information about access, logistics, and conditions for accurate bidding.

Accumulate, evaluate, and document historical cost data and construction methods for future reference.

Review special proposal requirements with Project Management.

Maintain addendum control and integrate updates promptly.

Assemble detailed scope letters with project-specific qualifications and exclusions.

Manage multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating strong multitasking and planning skills.

Prepare value engineering options and recommendations.

Ensure all bid forms are completed and properly executed.

Establish partnerships with owners, contractors, and architects to resolve bid process questions collaboratively.
Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of relevant estimating experience in landscape construction.

Strong understanding of landscape construction scopes, including grading, drainage, planting, irrigation, hardscape, and site furnishing.

Ability to read and interpret civil, landscape, and architectural plans.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, or equivalent work experience preferred.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); On-Screen Take-Off experience is a plus.

Strong understanding of construction budgeting and job costing principles.

Highly detailed, organized, process-oriented, goal-driven, and focused on achieving results and meeting deadlines.
