A leading building materials contractor has partnered with Sparks Group to identify a skilled Human Resources & Payroll Manager. This role is responsible for managing all HR functions and payroll operations, ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong attention to detail, and a passion for fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
- Administer benefits programs and coordinate annual open enrollment.
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
- Support recruitment efforts and onboarding processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Prepare and analyze HR and payroll reports for leadership.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to management on HR-related matters.
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR and payroll management.
- Proficiency in payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and payroll regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- HR or payroll certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, CPP) preferred.

Pay Range: Hourly $39.00 to $43.00
