We are seeking a full-time Ministry Event Planner to serve as a key professional member of the parish’s evangelization team, ensuring that parish life is supported through excellent events, special liturgical celebrations, and ministry programs. This position is responsible for the independent planning, coordination and execution of parish-wide events, sacramental programs, and ministry initiatives that significantly impact parish operations, engagement and evangelization efforts.


This individual is the primary point of contact for weddings and funerals and plays a key role in planning and executing major parish gatherings that foster faith, community, and discipleship. The Ministry Event Planner exercises independent judgment and discretion in designing event workflows, establishing operational procedures, managing processes, and making decisions on behalf of the parish related to events, logistics, communication, and ministry support. The position functions with broad autonomy and is entrusted to represent the parish in all interactions related to weddings, funerals, and major parish celebrations. In addition, this person provides essential support for sacramental preparation and ministry activities—helping parish leaders focus on evangelization and formation while ensuring smooth and organized implementation of all parish events and programs.

Event Coordination & Parish Celebrations

Weddings and Funerals

  • Serve as the main parish contact for families preparing for weddings and funerals.
  • Independently advise families with a compassionate and supportive demeanor, guiding them through the process with sensitivity and clarity.
  • Direct and oversee logistics for the full event process- rehearsals and day-of execution of events to ensure all details are handled with reverence and care.

Major Parish Events & Liturgies

  • Take the lead in planning and organizing large parish events, such as: Holiday liturgies (Christmas, Easter, Holy Week, Feast Days, Parish festivals, community gatherings, and ministry fairs and Prayer nights, retreats, and special evangelization events.
  • Collaborate with clergy, staff, and volunteers to establish timelines, delegate tasks, and oversee setup, cleanup, and hospitality.
  • Manage event promotion and communications (e.g., bulletin announcements, flyers, parish website, social media).
  • Serve as on-site event director for major parish events, troubleshooting challenges while ensuring smooth execution and a welcoming environment.
  • Conduct post-event analysis and evaluations to continuously improve event processes and inform future planning.

Sacramental & Ministry Support

Sacramental Preparation Coordination

  • Independently manage the administrative and operational components of sacramental programs, including First Communion and Confirmation.
  • Develop and maintain systems for accurate records and databases of participants, registrations, attendance, and sacramental documentation.
  • Coordinate logistics and rehearsals for sacramental liturgies in partnership with clergy and catechetical staff.


Ministry and Volunteer Support

  • Coordinate with the Pastoral Assistant to manage the parish master calendar to prevent scheduling conflicts and ensure facility readiness.
  • Provide high level administrative support for evangelization and formation programs, helping leaders focus on mission rather than logistics. Proactively identify operational needs and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Evangelization to identify and develop opportunities for parish-wide engagement and community building.

Requirements:

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing, with a deep understanding and respect for the teachings, traditions, and sacramental life of the Church.
  • Bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry, communications, event management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in event planning, parish ministry, or administrative coordination preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, demonstrating hospitality, diplomacy, and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and parish management systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support parish events and liturgies.
  • Refrain from promotion or approval of, or the living out of, and conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals.

Expected salary range: $58,000 - $60,000 annually. Actual offer will depend upon candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skills. This posting will remain open December 2, 2025.
