A registered nurse with expertise in operating room care is needed for a contract position in Goleta, CA. This role focuses on delivering high-quality perioperative nursing care with a special emphasis on conscious sedation procedures. Candidates must have experience in conscious sedation, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Minimum of one year of operating room nursing experience.
- Conscious sedation experience is a must.
- Experience with ophthalmology surgeries highly preferred.
- Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health records charting system.
- Ability to work a consistent day shift schedule (5 days a week, 8.5 hours per day).

Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care throughout all phases of the surgical process.
- Administer and monitor conscious sedation safety during procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members.
- Accurately document patient care using Epic charting software.
- Adhere to state and facility policies, standards, and infection control protocols.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort at all times.
This opportunity is offered on a contract basis with a consistent day shift schedule (08:30 AM to 5:30 PM).
