Job Description

This position manages the quality and productivity of the PSD and CET through the direct supervision of staff, and by setting and monitoring individual and department targets. Improves and automates production services as appropriate, recommending change and efficiencies to the Director. The Sr Manager is the Co-chair of the PSD Advisory Committee, and is able to effectively communicate with directors, administrators, and executive staff. This position requires a practical knowledge and experience in all functions of the revenue cycle, including registration, insurance verification, financial counseling, and benefit determination.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees and manages day to day operations of the CET and PSD.
  • Functions as Superuser and practical trainer for Visit Management module and eligibility functions within GE/IDX.
  • Implements and monitors processes to achieve PSD revenue cycle targets, in support of FPI’s overall revenue targets.
  • Manages IT and telephone systems, specific to the Ontario telephone system and eligibility module within GE/IDX; plan and implement additional features as approved. Tests and implements automated eligibility and benefit responses within GE/IDX, to the fullest extent of its capabilities. Maximize Artiva telephone system usage.
  • Identifies payer issues that impact revenue, and work with appropriate FPI and payer contacts to resolve.
  • Develops end user eCommerce tools and reports to aid the departments in determining eligibility efficacy, and measure improvements in front end denials. Reports formation will include both automatic and manual eligibility, as well as scheduled and interfaced visits.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Business Management or related field: or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in managing registration, insurance verification, and benefit determination functions
  • Minimum 5 years proven experience in accounts receivable management in a medical practice
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a management role, specifically handling business operations and HR issues

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
